If you do not enter your first and last name when you create your course profile the system will not have a name to print on the certificate and your certificate will be blank.
Once you are logged in to your course profile, in the upper right-hand corner, click “Edit Profile.” Then add your first and last name to the designated boxes (not the username box) as you want them to appear on your completion certificate. Save this change by scrolling to the bottom of your profile and select “Update User.” Once the page reloads, you should be able to click into your certificate and see your name has been updated.
You must enter the same email address you used for your course profile. Our record verification system utilizes the email address entries between the completed course records and form submissions. If the emails do not match, you will not receive credit. ASHA will verify your record using your ASHA ID number.
*Please note that the Participant Form and Program Evaluation form must be completed within the same month as when you completed and passed the final assessment. If you complete the course and pass the assessment in October but don’t complete the form to submit your ASHA information until November, the verification system will not properly match your data and you will not be reported.
We report to ASHA on a monthly basis. Per the reporting process timeline, please allow approximately 6 to 8 weeks from the end of the month in which you completed your course to appear in your ASHA registry.
If you completed the course and submitted the Participant Form and Program Evaluation form in March, you should see the CEUs appear in your registry by mid-May.
On June 28th there was a significant malfunction with our website that caused a glitch in our Learndash online course system for both the Introductory Child Apraxia of Speech Course and the DTTC Diagnosis and Treatment Course. Due to the issue with the website, we unfortunately lost all course data from October 2023 through June 28th, 2024. We have backup information that we have saved in an external system where we can access only the course completion for those who finished the course during that time. We do not have a record for those who started but didn’t complete the course.
This website issue does not change anyone who has already received CEUs from completing the course (through either the completion certificate or confirmation from ASHA).
If you completed the course between October 2023 and June 28, 2024 you may contact us via email and confirm we still have your information.
However, if you have your certificate of completion that should be enough to support that you did complete the course and ever need to show proof of record in the future (such as applying for a CAS Advanced Workshop). If you did not save a copy of your certificate, you can contact us and we can confirm you finished all the steps and possibly manually generate a certificate for you.
If you created an account and started either of our courses between October 2023 and June 28th, 2024 unfortunately you will need to create a new account and start the course over.
We do not have access to record data to prove you started the course, and will not make exceptions for anyone looking to gain course completion because of this lapse in data. While we offer free CEUs for these courses, we hope these are more than just a way to get CEUs. We hope that it is not a burden to re-listen to the videos and complete the quiz, as the information is important for your education about CAS. If we do not have record data that you completed the course, unfortunately we cannot help you any further and you will need to follow the directions to restart the course.
We sincerely apologize for this issue and have been working diligently to ensure our new site will not have this problem in the future.
Due to the interactive nature of the workshop the facilitators do not have plans to record a virtual advanced workshop.
We do not have an international option for the advanced workshop. We are a small team and can only host in the U.S. at this time. Apologies that we don’t have more in-person opportunities for those outside of the U.S. However, we do accept international applications!
We do our best to travel to each region annually (East Coast, West Coast, Midwest/Central states). Once we have confirmed a host site for a workshop we will distribute the information through our mailing list and on our social media. Please sign up for our newsletter and follow us on social media to get notified when a new workshop is announced and applications open!

Applications open approximately 3 months prior to each workshop. We will announce application timelines via our newsletter, website, and social media. If you do not see a link to an application on our website, it is not open yet.
We are sorry you missed the deadline to submit your application for the advanced workshop. Due to the high volume of applications we receive for each workshop, we are unable to accept a late submission. Please sign up for our newsletter and follow us on social media so you are aware of the application deadlines.

We are sorry to have missed you at the workshop and are happy to hear you are still interested in attending a future workshop! Unfortunately, due to the high volume of applications we receive for each workshop and updates to the application process, we are unable to automatically defer your acceptance. You are welcome to apply again to a future workshop, however there is no guarantee you will be accepted.
In the event that the workshop you have been selected for gets cancelled, we unfortunately cannot guarantee your acceptance into a future workshop. We do encourage you, however, to include in any of your future applications that the workshop you were selected for was cancelled and we will do our best to factor that into consideration.
We will always do our best to communicate any changes or cancellations to the workshop with as much advanced notice as we are able to provide.
Yes! If you continue to have interest in attending an Advanced Workshop, we encourage you to apply to a future workshop. You will need to complete a new application for each workshop, and your online video requirement and Clinical Decision-Making Assessment must be completed within 12 months of the application date.
Only fully complete applications submitted by the application deadline will be considered for admittance. Applicants will be notified of admission decision approximately 4-6 weeks prior to the workshop. Admission decisions are based on multiple factors including:
We are happy to provide general information, resources, and guidance; however, we are not able to answer questions about individual patients, provide case-specific recommendations, or advise on diagnosis or treatment planning. For questions related to a specific child or client, we encourage you to consult with a licensed speech-language pathologist. Families may consider:
Using a professional SLP search tool or clinician directory, such as this recommended list from ASHA or the Foundation’s DTTC Certified Research Clinicians
Consulting their state speech-language-hearing association for information about qualified speech-language pathologists in their area
Contacting their local school or school district to inquire about speech-language services
Asking their pediatrician or primary care provider for a referral to a qualified speech-language pathologist
For all other questions, we encourage you to reach out to cascourse@onceuponatime.org
Please allow 3-5 days for a team member to respond to your request.
We value your feedback and are committed to addressing any concerns you may have. If you have a complaint, please refer to our Complaint Policy for detailed instructions on how to proceed.
